Professor Ukfield from the University of Greenwich, UK made an academic report in School of Humanities, Economics and Law

On the afternoon of May 16th and the morning of May 17th, 2019, Professor Yu Kefei of the University of Greenwich Business School was invited to make a lecture entitled "How to Publish a High Quality Paper" and "Finance in Finance" "Meaning of measurement standards and empirical analysis methods" two academic reports, Professor Duan Jie of the Department of Economics of our college chaired the report. Associate Professor Yuan Xiaojun, director of the Department of Economics, and some foreign students and graduate students attended the seminar.

Lecture 1 mainly combines Professor Yu Kefei's own research fields and research results, and mainly describes how to publish articles in high-level journals, how to choose topics, how to write, how to polish papers, how to choose suitable journals for publication, especially in international SSCI articles are published in the journals. The lectures will be analyzed and explained with a large number of case studies in combination with their existing research and published papers.

Lecture 2 focuses on the urgency of deepening regional financial cooperation in the context of the globalization of capital flows. With the background of increasing US subprime debt risks and the continued depreciation of the US dollar and the continuous accumulation of 13 countries ’US dollar foreign exchange reserves as the background, six different aspects of Asia Financial integration has been comprehensively analyzed, and based on this, an in-depth analysis of the development process and remaining problems of Asian integration in recent years has been made. Focusing on the various measurement standards of global financial integration, including measurement based on prices, volumes and regulations, and how to use empirical methods for testing and analysis, and its own research articles on Asian financial integration, Through research methods such as modeling and data acquisition and analysis, the research results in this field are demonstrated.

After two days of lectures, the graduate students had a full discussion and exchanges with Professor You about the confusion and questions in the study and thesis writing. The students thought that the application of economic research methods and thesis writing through study and exchange were very useful. The big gains will greatly help the further learning process in the future. The exchange of this lecture is very helpful to improve the publication of high-level papers by teachers and students of humanities and social sciences in our college.
